The past few weeks have been spent introducing the elements of plot (problem, solution, rising action, climax, and falling action). We have discussed how Peter and the Starcatchers might have multiple "plot mountains" throughout the course of the story. Because we have spent time charting the initial problem and rising action, I want you to make a prediction about what our first climax might be. Based on what we know about the characters and the plot elements so far, what do you think will happen next? Make sure to type your response in your 'blogging doc' first so that you can make changes if necessary before you post. Your prediction should be in RAD format and should have specific text evidence from the story to support it. What from the story supports your prediction, be specific. Please make sure to check your conventions before you publish (spelling, capitals, punctuation, grammar, etc). I am excited to see what you are thinking based on the work we have done so far.
I predict that Black Stache is going to jump on the Wasp and fight to look for the treasure. I think that will happen because the whole reason why Black Stache threw all of the barrels of water off the Sea Devil to get the treasure from the Wasp and be rich.

has been talking about. It also makes sense because Black Stache has been talking about getting the treasure. If Black Stache gets the treasure then he will be rich because the trunk seems to be special. NICE JOB!!!

DeleteI predict that Black Stache will not get the trunk with the greatest treasure ever. I predict that because the dolphins warned Mr.Aster that the Sea Devil was trying to steal the trunk and then Mr.Aster warned Captain Scott. Now Captain Scott can try and protect the greatest treasure from Black Stache because then the KIng of Rundoon won’t get the treasure.

ReplyDeleteIn the book Peter and the Starcatchers I predict that Peter and Alf are going to go into the basement where the trunk is and get past the guard and go to the trunk and they will feel it just and have the same feeling as Alf. They will open the trunk and find Tinkerbell in the trunk. I think this because Tinkerbell has to have special dust to fly. Maybe when the rat got on the trunk he picked up some of the dust and that’s how he was able to fly. Alf might of gotten that feeling when he touched the trunk because if Tinkerbell is in the trunk, Tinkerbell is magic and that magic might have gone to Alf’s mind and made him feel that way.
ReplyDeleteWow I agree I would never of thought about that! That part about Tinker Bell and the chest was really cool. I also think that maybe that is why Alf heard the bells because Tinker Bell communicates by shaking her bells.

Deleteofia, I do agree with you that Tinkerbell is in the trunk and if she is I think that her and peter will be very good friends. Many people think the plan will work but maybe they do get caught that would draw the reader in.
DeleteIn read aloud we are almost at a big climax. I predict that there is going to be some item that if you touch it, you would float or levitate. I think that because there was a flying rat near the chest. Also, Alf was floatin by about 1 inch when he was touching the chest. That is why I think that will happen in the book.
ReplyDeleteI agree Jen. I also think that Alf could hear bells when he touched the trunk because Tinker Bell could be in the trunk. If you have seen Peter Pan, Tinker Bell uses her bells to communicate.

DeleteMy prediction for the big climax in Peter and the Starcatchers is, that the Pirates and Black Stache will get the Trunk on the Wasp. I think this because Black Stache and his Pirates had a plan to steal the treasure (trunk) on the Wasp, to be the best ship on the sea. The Pirates and Black Stache are getting close to the Wasp. The Pirates and Black Stache might get the treasure because they might have more weapons than the people on the Wasp. That is my prediction on the big climax.

DeleteMy predictions are that, one, Peter and Alf will find and open the trunk and find Tinker Bell because Peter said he wanted to see it and Alf tried to touch it. My second prediction is that captain Scott will go down with a fight but save his trunk because he said they would fight the crew of the Sea Devil.

Luke, I love how your first prediction is so realistic. I also love how you think that tinkerbell is in the trunk because there are so many clues to think that like the floating rat. Maybe tinkerbell used her magic to use it.

I think that because I think the falling action will be them trying to get the trunk back, and then the solution would be them getting back the trunk and defeating the Sea Devil. Then it will talk about Peter. In Peter I think the next thing will be his plan working. I think the plan will work because Peter was willing to give his life if it did not work so he is very sure it will work. I think they will try to trick the gard into touching the trunk and being happy. That is what I think will happen next.

ReplyDeleteI predict that in the book Peter and the Star catchers the prequel to Peter Pan that the fairy from the book is in the chest. I predict this because i’m pretty sure she talks in bells and when someone touches the chest they hear bells trying to communicate. Also in the original book she makes Peter fly. Also when someone touches the chest it makes them feel like they’re flying.

DeleteI think that Black Stache from the book Peter and the Starcatchers will take the treasurer trunk from the Wasp and Peter and Alf will have a smart plan to get it back because Molly’s dad is on the Wasp. I think this because it mentioned a plan for Black Stache to not take the treasure but because the Sea Devil is so close Black Stache will get the treasure and Alf and Peter will have a longer time to discuss their new plan. But since Molly will not tell Peter, Peter will find out on his own.

ReplyDeleteJen I agree with you that when you touch the chest you can fly because like in Peter Pan Tinker bell has that pixy dust that when you sprinkle it on you you start to float. and probable when Slank found the treasure he put pixie dust on him and he was floating then he put some on the rat so he could fly and freak the people out that wanted to see what was in the treasure.
I predict that the Neverland,Wasp,and the Sea Devil will all come together and have a big fight because Molly might tell Slank the Sea Devil will attack the Wasp then the Neverland will come and help. I also predict that Peter will board the Sea Devil because on the cover there’s a girl tied up in the backround. On the contrary I predict that Peter’s plan will be Alf will distract the guard or something and Peter will sneak in the room because Peter said it was a two person job.

They're both pretty sneaky too because Peter stole bread and Alf has touched the trunk. That’s why I think Peter and Alf will find the trunk.

ReplyDeleteMy prediction for later chapters in the story Peter and the Starcatchers is that Peter and Alf, two of the main characters in the story are going to make the guard that is protecting the supposedly magic chest let his guard down by making him think that he can take a break and get the chest and see what is inside. I think they are going to do this by dressing up like Slank and telling him that he can have a break. So thats my prediction!

I think this because Peter and Alf have a plan to find out what’s in the trunk and Black Stache is going to attack the Wasp. I think that Stache will win the fight against the Wasp and get the trunk because he is very talented and has a plan in any situation. Peter is plotting to find out what’s in the trunk on his ship and I think his plan will work because he is a very smart boy and I know this because he learned when to dodge Grempkin’s fists when he tried to box Peter’s ears.

The reason I think this is because now since the Sea Devil is now faster than the wasp I think it has a chance of getting the wasp. Meanwhile on the Neverland I think Alf and Peter will get past the guard and get to the trunk. I think they're going to open the trunk and then they're both going to fly just like the rat. The reason I think this is because when Peter said his plan is going to work then then I believe its going to work. The reason I think they're going to fly is because of stars I think Molly Knows about the stars and I think there are stars because the title is Peter and the Starcatcher and that is when when I think we are going to stop reading.

ReplyDeleteSomething that I predict is that part of Alf’s and Peter’s plan is that one Alf is going to distract the new guard and Peter is going to sneak in to find out what is in the trunk. I think this because when Peter said that he had a plan I imagined him having a mysterious facial expression, and if the new guard is distract by Alf else the new guard is most likely to not notice Peter sneaking in.

Another reason why that is my prediction is because in the original story Peter knows Tinkerbell and I think that is the only way they could have met with them both going to the same place. That is my prediction!!!!!!
1 Early changed from the beginning throughout because at first Early wanted to find Jessie because Early missed him dearly, but now he is having second thoughts because Early heard stories about Jessie murders, stealing and more so Early is now nervous about finding Jessie. 2 Jessie had to grow up even know he was so young because he had a job working for the wagon train and he had to take control and also he had to take care of himself when he was going to find Lizzie in Gold Hill so he did not die of dehydration and starvation. 3 Early decides to go back to the Pikes Peaks Diggings instead of staying on the farm because he wanted to find Lizzie because they were best friend and Early missed Lizzie and Early wanted to start a new life with Lizzie. 4 I think what happened to Jesse when he ran away is that Mr. Marw killed him because he stole and murdered and it said that Mr. Marw wanted to kill Jesse because he did bad stuff.
